Description: The Network Screening – Crash Based data can be used to access and visualize Massachusetts top crash locations based on segments exceeding the predicted number of crashes. The information is based on the latest 5 years of closed geocoded fatal or serious injury crashes (2013-2017). Safety Performance Functions (SPFs), based on the specific roadway network and crash data, have been developed to determine the ranking of the segments. For additional information and descriptions visit MassDOT SPF Development and Ranking Methodology. The data in this module only contains segment crash results. For the methodology in determining top crash intersection locations and to view the map please refer to MassDOT's Top crash locations and maps.
